Priscilla Pomeroy “Artist for Freedom”
Born Priscila Ruiz Mercenario en Mexico City before the devastating earth quake that hit the city in 1985, who reached the majority of age and decided to pay homage to her grandmother by taking her last name “Pomeroy”. Her presence in school was brief thanks to a self-taught nature ignited by precociousness and a huge passion for knowledge in arts, ethics, activism and politics. Her deep necessity for expression have lead to solid accomplishments in arts like music (Pris/ Singer-Songwriter), plastic arts (Photography, Painting and Sculpture) and film (Direction, Script, Wardrobe and Makeup).
“Art and life are the same reality to me; I cannot conceive one without the other. Art has healed what life has wounded as life smiles before art’s gift of purification. Art is a tool for celebrating an irrepressible need for planting the seed of freedom to every heart that may cross my way. I do not believe in a specific technique to be our selves, I believe in freedom and it’s never ending lessons.” P.P
Priscilla Pomeroy “Artista por Libertad”
Nacida Priscila Ruiz Mercenario en México, Distrito Federal poco antes del gran temblor que sacudió a la ciudad en 1985, quién al alcanzar la mayoría de edad adopto el apellido de su abuela materna “Pomeroy” como un homenaje. Gracias a su naturaleza autodidacta el paso por la escolarización fue breve en contraste con la precocidad misma que forjó una gran pasión por conocimientos en arte, biología, ética, activismo y política. La necesidad y el derecho a la expresión han fundamentado un trabajo sólido en artes como la música (Pris/Cantautora), las artes plásticas (Fotografía, Pintura y Escultura) y el cine (Dirección, Guion, Vestuario y Maquillaje).
“El arte y la vida son una misma realidad, no concibo una sin la otra. El arte ha sanado lo que la vida ha herido y la vida sonríe ante la purificación del arte. El arte es una herramienta para celebrar una irreprensible necesidad por sembrar libertad en cuanto corazón cruce mi camino. No creo en ninguna técnica exacta para ser uno mismo, creo en la libertad y su interminable enseñanza“ P.P
